Bordered at the north with Basilicata (Lucania ) and for the rest surrounded by two seas, infact it is washed by the Tyrrhenian on the west coast , the Ionian sea on the east coast with the strait of Messina at the south for a whole length of 780km of coastline that is the corresponding 19% of the entire Italian coast. The calabrian territory is mostly mountainous(the Pollino, Sila, Aspromonte and the serre) for 42%, hillside for 49% and for the remaining 9% it’s classed as plains (the plains of Gioia Tauro, Sibari and of Lamezia terme)
the roadbed of the Pollino is of a dolomite-calcare nature with superficial phenomens of karsting, geographically the Pollino signs the border (at north )with Basilicata. The Sila more than a mountain chain is a various highland ,where it's possible to find boundless woods , lakes, cascades that furrow the mounts and sail towards the sea, mountain tops that degrade delicately and peaks that make a natural balconies that offer a unforgettable panoramic view.
With its 780 km of seacoast, Calabria offers a variety of coastline places that are difficult to find in other Italian penisland regions.
